The Door
Come in dressed for 1929. Something sparkling finds you at the door, and the band is already warming up.
The End of Prohibition
Tuesday, December 1 · 6:30 PM
In 1933 Prohibition was repealed and the whole country raised a glass. We are throwing that party again. For one night our dining room becomes a 1920s supper club: live jazz from Pocket Change, emerald and gold, coupes raised high, and five courses from Chef Devin. Put on your best suit or your flapper dress. The party starts at half past six.
For thirteen years, a drink in America meant a password, a back door and a lookout on the corner. Then on December 5, 1933, Prohibition ended, and the whole country poured itself one out in the open. Jazz spilled into the street. Strangers toasted strangers. It was one of the great parties in history.
We are throwing it again, a few nights early. On Tuesday, December 1, the whole restaurant is yours: live jazz from Pocket Change playing the music of the era, five courses Chef Devin is writing just for this night, and glasses that Lou Dedier will keep full if you let him.
We are not a stuffy room and this is not a stuffy night. Dress up, dance a little, make a new friend at the next table. That is the whole point.
A presto, amici

Five courses Chef Devin is writing for this night only. Roman at heart, dressed up for the Jazz Age.
Pocket Change plays the jazz of the era all night, right in the room with you. Toes will tap. Some will dance.
Then the whole room raises a glass together, the way the country did on December 5, 1933. Cin cin.

A five-course dinner by Chef Devin Dedier, live jazz from Pocket Change, the room and the party. The full bar is open all night too.
A glass chosen by Lou Dedier for every course, poured as each plate lands.
Sparkling wines curated by Lou, poured through the night. The way they celebrated in 1933.

You do not have to, but you will want to. Suits, bow ties, flapper dresses, pearls, feathers. The more the room looks like 1929, the better the night gets.

No. On December 1 the whole house belongs to Repeal Night. Regular dinner picks back up the next day.
December 5 is the El Dorado Hills tree lighting, and we would never compete with that. So we are toasting Repeal a few nights early.
