First, the honest part: Vacanza Romana isn't in Cameron Park. We're in El Dorado Hills, at 2023 Vine Street, Suite 101, in El Dorado Hills Town Center, about ten minutes west of Cameron Park on U.S. Highway 50. Close enough for a Tuesday, and Roman enough for a special occasion. The pasta is rolled by hand every morning, the kitchen is family-owned and cooks from scratch, and nobody here will rush you toward the check.

Getting Here from Cameron Park

Hop on U.S. Highway 50 west and take the Latrobe Road / El Dorado Hills Boulevard exit. Follow the signs into El Dorado Hills Town Center. We're at the back of the center on Vine Street, below the movie theater.

From most of Cameron Park it's about six miles and about ten minutes, a little longer when 50 is busy. Coming from Shingle Springs? Same highway, same exit, about fifteen minutes.

Parking is free. Grab a spot along Vine Street, or park in the upper or lower Theater Plaza lots and walk down. The address is 2023 Vine Street, Suite 101, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762, and you can reach the dining room at (916) 673-9620. More on hours and parking on our visit page.

What to Order

The card turns with the season, so check tonight's menu. These are the dishes we'd point a first-timer from Cameron Park toward.

Cacio e Pepe

Tonnarelli, toasted tellicherry pepper, two pecorini and a touch of white truffle butter. Rome in three ingredients. How we make it.

Carbonara

Rigatoni, tempered egg yolk, pepper-cured guanciale, parmigiano and pecorino romano. Never a drop of cream. The Roman way.

Something to Share

Supplì al telefono, fried risotto with pomodoro and mozzarella, and carciofi alla giudia, Roman fried artichokes with parmigiano fonduta and lemon.

From the Season

Cappellacci di zucca, handmade and filled with roasted delicata, finished in brown butter with amaretti and hazelnut.

From the Line

Saltimbocca alla romana, a pounded Berkshire pork chop with prosciutto di Parma and sage, or ossobuco over polenta with gremolata.

To Finish

One tiramisù, two spoons. Then a glass from a deep Italian and California wine list.

Bring the Dog

Our patio is dog friendly. If your evenings in Cameron Park usually include a four-legged plus-one, bring them along, grab a patio table, and we'll take care of the rest.
